Nice video. The right rocket looked better though

I’ve been trying to understand colors better for years and this is the first time I’ve heard of hue shifting. I think it’s going to help me a ton. I’m struggling to figure out how to hue shift the right amount though. The degrees of hue, saturation, and value don’t change an equal amount between each shift so how do we properly make our own?

As someone who uses pure black outlines, that is the "do" I disagree most with. It's PURELY a stylistic choice and not a sin one way or another if you choose to use it or not. See Shovel Knight for a good example of outlined pixel art.

How do you determine the location of a sprite? For example, I want to draw Wall E which is lower in height, should me draw it in the middle or at the bottom of the canvas

To be honest, the heavily shaded rocket looks quite nice. Obviously it's more shading than necessary, but it just looks so smooth and cylindrical

i disagree that jaggies look bad. i think they look out of place in pixel art that focuses on perfect angles, but theyre often necessary for organic shapes
